Code of Conduct  

Mission Statement:  The fundamental belief of the SYO is that every child in the city of Superior with the desire to play baseball or softball be afforded that opportunity.  The SYO is committed to teaching fundamental skills, mental and physical development, a respect for the rules of the game, and basic ideals of sportsmanship and fair play.  The SYO is committed to providing our participants the best educational, sports experience possible.

Family Code of Conduct

  • It is important that parents and players exhibit positive and encouraging behavior. It is important to be supportive towards coaches, umpires, other players, and families.   
  • Profanity or abusive action or language will not be tolerated.
  • Any negative comments during a game or practice, directed towards coaches, teams, players, parents or officials will not be tolerated.
  • Any negative postings on Social Media directed towards coaches, teams, players, parents or officials will not be tolerated.

Coaches Code of Conduct

It is important for coaches to remember that they do not only teach baseball or softball skills.  They must also be positive role models and display good sportsmanship They must maintain a positive attitude, create a positive climate, and give all team members an opportunity to feel welcome.  

  • Profanity or abusive action or language will not be tolerated.
  • Negative comments during a game or practice, directed towards coaches, teams, players, parents, or umpires will not be tolerated.
  • Negative postings on Social Media directed towards coaches, teams, players, parents or officials will not be tolerated.

Family Members & Coaches

  • Follow an appropriate communication chain of command when you have a concern:  1. Ask your child to communicate with their coach. 2. If you still have question, please make an appointment to talk to the coach. 3. If you still have questions or concerns, reach out to any Board member.
  • If you or anyone belonging to SYO feels that they are a victim of bullying by another coach, player, parent or official, please contact any Board Member immediately.  *Contact Information on SYO website:  www.superioryouthorg.com
  • Failure to comply with any of these expectations may result in your removal from SYO sponsored events and/or the dismissal of you or your child from the program.
